nonstoponstage
is a stage format created by the Mainz-based artist duo Schmitt&Schulz, in which the two performers improvise performative scenes for many hours without interruption. Nothing is planed or rehearsed in advance. They develop every action intuitively and spontaneously, in the moment. The only things prepared are a few props, costumes and sound or visual elements that the two can use during their continuous improvisation.
Neither the audience nor the two performers themselves know what will happen on stage and what scenarios will unfold when they step onto the stage.
In the meantime, however, Schmitt&Schulz have developed their own unique style with their series. Their improvisations are often exciting, cheeky, loud, trashy, colourful, wild, weird and chaotic, but also often focused, quiet and minimalistic, sometimes meaningful and pompous, sometimes interactive, often quite ugly or powerful, touching, exciting, provocative or harmonious, cacophonous, exuberant, and of course sometimes boring, long-winded or even stupid and shallow, perhaps sometimes insolent and demanding, offensive, idiotic, torturous and obtrusive, but mostly worth seeing.
Viewers can decide for themselves what or how much they want to see, and can come, go and return whenever and however they like.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Schmitt&Schulz transformed the nonstoponstage format into a livestream format entitled nonstoponline and presented it as a series several times a year. Now they can finally return to the stage. After countless performances in Mainz, they are now coming to Bad Kreuznach for the first time!
The admission price is freely selectable and is paid when leaving the theatre. Reservations or ticket bookings are not necessary.
Parking is readily available in the multi-storey car park just a few metres away at Bourger-Platz.
It is only a few hundred metres from Bad Kreuznach railway station to the neighbourhood centre, and trains between MZ and KH run at regular intervals.
