the International Workshop HUMAN SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE:
„TRANSFORMATIVE ENCOUNTERS“

for professional performers and directors as well as for newcomers and beginners

BAD KREUZNACH (Germany), 27th SEPT.- 4th. OCT. 2024

As a pendant to Site Specific Performance, Human Specific Performance is a special performance format that focuses on the human individual. A Human Specific Performance deals with and about the people watching it. Human Specific Performance is not intended to be an entertaining show, but rather a shared important and impressive experience for both, performers and visitors alike, about their own and the others lives. In a Human Specific Performance, each audience member is treated individually. Thus, each audience member will have his/her own personal experience on his/her journey through the performance, which is different from that of anyone else. In a Human Specific Performance, the authenticity of life becomes the aesthetic principle of the shared performance experience. Boundaries between performers and visitors become completely blurred, when they act together as a team and play their game of life.

In this intense 8-day workshop, we will focus on the mechanisms and patterns of human interaction and play with emotional, rational and sensual communication. We want to create interactions that sensitize performers and visitors to each other, so that they open up to each other and engage in an open exchange. In the course of the workshop, all participants will develop their own Human Specific Performance, individually coached by one of the three tutors. The performances will then be presented to an invited audience at the end of the workshop and can of course also be included in the participants' repertoire and presented elsewhere.

In order to ensure individual support for all participants, the workshop is limited to a maximum of nine participants (one tutor for three participants).
It is therefore advisable to apply early for participation, but no later than September 10th, 2024.

The workshop will take place in the new rehearsal and production stage of the performance art depot in a former elementary school, a historic building in the center of the very beautiful, old German cure town of Bad Kreuznach at the river Nahe, only 80 km from Frankfurt, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, so that you can also enjoy the eight days of your participation as a vacation or time out.

The workshop by director and performer Nullo Facchini from Copenhagen is organized and supervised by pad (performance art depot).
